Death by Chocolate
Come join us as we celebrate the island’s 17th Annual Death by Chocolate event! These free Valentine’s Day festivities will be hosted by the Historic Street Merchants of Chincoteague and includes a scavenger hunt with stops at many participating island businesses. The scavenger hunt begins on Friday, February 17 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and concludes with the second portion of the event on Saturday, February 18 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. At each stop, participants will receive a validation for their playing card and chocolate. Once all players have crossed the finish line on Saturday, a prize drawing will take place.
Businesses participating in the scavenger hunt include (but are not limited to) Michael’s Jewelry, Island Butterfly, Wine Coffee & Gourmet, Osprey Nest Art Gallery, Hollyhocks on Main, Don’s Seafood & Chatties Lounge, Bay Blessings Gallery, Island Artisans, The Salty Witch, Chincoteague Island Library, Sundial Books, Pause for Paws, Beach & Bead, Island Creamery, House of Jerky, Island Roots, Famous’s, Salty Sisters Massage & Bodyworks, Whiteraven’s Nest, and Flying Fish Gallery. Valentine’s Day Cabaret
Island celebrations will continue on Saturday evening with a Valentine’s Day Cabaret hosted by Chincoteague Cultural Alliance. The Love Themed Cabaret will begin at 7 p.m. at their Church Street location. Local musicians, actors, and storytellers will take the stage. There will be a $5 suggested donation at the door. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
